Bubblegum Crisis

The original Bubblegum Crisis OAV series was the first anime I ever saw subtitled, and thus it owns a special place in my heart. It doesn't hurt that the original character designs were done by Kenichi Sonoda at the peak of his powers. I'm always on the prowl for new classic Crisis stuff, but it's getting increasingly rare in this day and age. As for Tokyo 2040, I wouldn't mind nabbing a shot or two of Nene (one of the best character revamps in the show, I'd say), but overall, the show comes off as too slick, trendy, and hollow for my tastes. Give me back my cyberpunk dirt and grime, dammmit!
