Getter Robo
Home/Change Series
Created by Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa in the mid-1970's, Getter Robo was the first combining super robot, formed from three planes that could combine in three different ways to produce three different robots. Following two successful '70s TV series, the legend of Getter was revived twice in the 1990's, first as the 1992 TV flop Getter Robo Go! and then as the dark 1998 high-budget 13-episode OVA series Change! Shin Getter Robo: The Last Day, released domestically as Getter Robo: Armageddon. Most of my cels from this series come from that production, my favorite from the Getter canon. In 2000 a lighter toned (but no less violent) four-part OVA, Shin Getter Robo Vs. Neo Getter Robo, was released; while not as good as Change! Shin Getter Robo, it's got its moments.
