Easily one of the most grim series in the entire Sunrise mecha canon, Armored Trooper Votoms has been a long-time favorite of mine for its relentlessly dark tone, it's hard-edged joyless protagonist, and its strongly utilitarian mecha design. This is the antithesis of today's flashy, simpering mecha shows. This is a MAN'S mecha show.
